Northwestern Medical Canter and The Family Center of Northwestern Counseling & Support Services hosted a family-friendly event focused on healthy fun Saturday February 10th. At this event community members were able to get health screenings and visit activity stations to learn about getting active, eating well, avoiding tobacco and more. Rise VT highlighted Active Play opportunities in the smaller gym with Playscriptions from Dr. Fontaine, hula hooping, family plank station, dance parties, a fun photo both and more! NMC’s Restaurant and Catering team provided free healthy snacks and smoothies. This event grows bigger and better every year and in 2018 we had over 400 in attendance.
Additionally this year we were excited to have Governor Phil Scott in attendance to help us kick off our Active Play campaign. He read and signed a proclamation about the importance of active play. If you missed it here is a brief recap.
